LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 3: The Gorilla Suit

The Gorilla Suit is exclusive to set 8803, The Collectible Minifigure Series 3.

Minifigure Parts and Accessories
The Gorilla is composed of four main parts: gorilla mask, head, torso, and legs.

The head piece, a gorilla mask, is definitely a new piece for the LEGO universe. There was some debate on if the figure was supposed to be a gorilla or a guy in a suit, but it is a costume.

The head shows a facial expression that is similar to that of the Series 2 Weightlifter, with sweat coming off the brow. Hey! It get's hot in those outfits.

The torso and arms are black, while the hands are gray. The torso print on the front resembles the gray chest and stomach of a gorilla. Breaking form with other collectible minifigures, there is print on the back of the figure resembling a zipper.

The legs and hips are black with no visible print.

The accessory that comes with this figure is a big, yellow banana. This is part 33085 and has come with many sets in the past.

LEGO.com Bio
“Ook!”

The Gorilla Suit Guy is a mystery. Who is he? Why is he wearing that suit? Does he think he’s an actual gorilla, or did he get lost on his way to a costume party? He certainly acts like the real thing, or at least like someone who’s watched a lot of old movies and TV shows and thinks that’s how a gorilla should act. And he sure is wild about bananas.

The Gorilla Suit Guy could turn up anywhere. In the park, at the beach, hanging out in a store window or jumping up and down on a trampoline, he tends to pop up in the most surprising and unlikely of places. And while he may not be a real gorilla, somehow no one ever wants to be the one to tell him that!

Army Building Potential
The ABP for the figure is moderate. Why? Planet of the Apes.

Feeling It Out
The gorilla mask and banana are the distinctive parts for this fig, but may be hard to isolate and/or not confuse with other parts from this series.

Bar Codes
Unlike previous series of collectible minifigures, there will be no secondary bar codes to help determine what figure is inside. However, there are a series of 'bumps' on the bottom of the packages that can be used to identify the contents (LEGO Series 3 Collectible Minifigure Codes). These codes were provided courtesy of FBTB.net and Rick Theroux.

The Big Draw
The gorilla mask is the draw here. A unique and quirky piece which could be sought for a variety of reasons. Other than this, however, and there's not much else to look forward to.
