I'll bet dollars to donuts that this isn't the first time these two Star Wars themes have been mixed, but it's the first time I've run across it. LG Orlando has mixed the markings of Sith tattoos and applied them to clone trooper armor to nice effect.
The prequels and Clone Wars series have definately given customizers a lot to work with with the different armor variations and markings of clone commanders. It's great to see that even long time themes like this can have new life breathed into them.
