LEGO being LEGO equipped the new Star Wars Embo figure with a standard crossbow as a stand-in for his bowcaster; however, if you look at reference pictures, you'll note it doesn't quite fit the bill.
Mike Linteau (ryffranck029) has found a nice solution. Using a BrickForge recurve bow and a Si-Dan PSG-1, he fashions a much better alternative. The thin lines show where linear cuts were made, while the keystone shaped notches go together like a puzzle piece. A little glue, a little paint, and you're done!
Now if we can only fix the pauldron TLG provided...
