LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 2: The Lifeguard

LEGO Collectible Minifigure Series 2 The LifeguardThe Lifeguard is exclusive to set 8684, The Collectible Minifigure Series 2.

Minifigure Parts and Accessories

The Lifeguard is composed of four main parts: hair piece, head, torso, and legs.

The hair piece appears to be the same as the one featured on the Series 1 Cheerleader (part 62696) . The same part in blond will also appear on Luna Lovegood in the upcoming LEGO Harry Potter sets.

The head features a new female print, but is otherwise unremarkable.

The torso is largely red with yellow arms and hands. The print on the front of the torso gives the shape of the bathing suit. There is a logo of a life preserver on the left-side, and two letters on the upper right (G.T.). Rumor has it that these initials correspond with the designer of this figure.

The hips are red while the legs are yellow. The print on the front of the legs completes the shape of the one-piece bathing suit. Given that many of the minifigures don't have print on the back, does this mean the bathing suit appears to be a thong from the back?

The accessory for this figure is a red rescue can. This is a new part for the LEGO universe. There is a handle on each side of the can to allow the figure to hold it.

Detailed pictures of all parts and accessories can be seen here.

Army Building Potential

The army building potential for the figure is low. Although images of Baywatch spring to mind every time I see this figure, there are only so many beach vignettes you can create.

Feeling It Out

The rescue can would be the part to seek out here.

Bar Codes

The following are the secondary bar codes that can be found on the back of each bag which indicates the figure inside. The EU bar codes are shown on the left and the US bar codes are shown on the right. These bar codes come courtesy of Grogall. You can find a single pdf containing all bar codes here.

Official LEGO.com Bio

“Just yell ‘help’ and I’m on my way!”

The Lifeguard is trained in all of the latest life saving techniques and knows how to use each and every piece of rescue equipment at the beach. She sits in her high chair, keeping a careful eye on the ocean so that everyone who puts even a toe in the water is safe.

Helping people is the Lifeguard’s passion, and when she’s not lifeguarding, she’s in medical school studying to be a doctor. She wants to make sure that no one ever gets hurt on her watch. Even the sharks feel safe when she’s around!

The Big Draw

The torso/leg combo are the big draws here. There have been no true swimsuit prints on a minifigure to date. Although unique, I don't see the rescue can being highly sought after at this time.
