LEGO Harry Potter Minifigures: Hermione Granger
Ms. Hermione Granger will be appearing in sets 4738 and 4842, Hagrid's Hut and Hogwart's Castle, respectively. This figure is very similar to the one released in 2007 (hp083).
Another variant of Hermione in casual clothing is rumored to appear in set 10217, Diagon Alley. The photo's to date, however, have shown her with Ginny Weasley's torso, which is not likely.
Minifigure Parts and Accessories
Hermione is composed of four parts: hair piece, head, torso, and legs.
The hair piece appears to be a re-release of part 59363 in reddish brown.
Although I couldn't find an exact match in the BrickLink catalog, the head is a light flesh color and sports a basic female print. The head is also dual sided with a slightly different expression as seen here.
The torso is dark gray with dark gray arms and light flesh hands. The print is the same as those sported by Harry and Ron in the Hagrid's Hut set and differ from previous versions with a similar look. The tie pattern has changed in the direction of the stripes and taking on a more 'disheveled' appearance. The Gryffindor field of arms has been added to the lower left-hand side. There is print on the back side of the torso, but it only shows folds in the sweater and a continuation of the band around the lower hem.
The legs and hips are both basic black with no print.
The accessory that comes with both figures is a brown 4L bar (part 30374) subbing for Hermione's wand.
Army Building Potential
The ABP for this figure is low. Very similar to versions released in 2007 and no new or unique parts.
Some builders may seek out the new Gryffindor sweater for MOCs that might feature more than the main cast of characters. If so then set 4736, Dobby's Release, would appear to be the best price point to get it.
Big Draw
Aside from an opportunity to get a minifigure Hermione if you missed out on early sets, the sweater torso print appears to be the potential draw here for reasons mentioned above.
