Once the guardians of Azkaban Prison, The Dementors return to the LEGO universe as part of set 4842, the 2010 version of Hogwart's Castle.
Minifigure Parts and Accessories
Its difficult to tell from early pictures, but the Dementor could be made up of as many as seven parts. This is based on the part count for the 2004 version (hp046). We can see from the photos that there will be a hood, head, and cape. The pictures from the LEGO.com microsite would also suggest there are two arms and a stand. Chances are there's some kind of torso under the cloak.
The hood is a black version of part x115, but the cape appears to be a new design. The cape style is a bit of a rarity and could be one of the more attractive parts of this figure.The head is gray with a dual-sided print; one that suggests the Dementor's mouth and jawline, and the other with no mouth at all. This would be a new print different from the original Dementor's head.
The arms shown on the rendered picture would suggest two gray droid arms (part 30377).
The stand is a bit of a mystery. It may be a simple inverted dish with a bar, but without a good look at the torso its hard to say. The early set pics do not show any stand.
The torso will have to be revealed at a later date. The 2004 Dementor used a skeleton torso (part 6260).
Army Building Potential
The ABP for this figure ranges from "moderate" to "high". Near the end of "The Prisoner of Azkaban" Harry is beset by a hoard of these things. One item that may dampen your ability to get multiples affordably is the high price-point of the Hogwart's Castle set (estimated at $130 USD).
Big Draw
I believe that the capes will be a big draw here. Current prices of the old Dementor capes are around $8 a piece on BrickLink. The rarity of the cape/cloak style in a new black color will draw collectors and customizers alike.
