The Pop Star is exclusive to set 8684, The Collectible Minifigure Series 2.
Minifigure Parts and Accessories
The Pop Star is composed of four main parts: hair piece, head, torso, and legs.
The hair piece is a new part. Flyaway bangs in what appears to be tan. The custom Charlie's Angels now have their Farrah. Oooh! Switch out The Lifeguard's hair with this and you have a classic poster.
As with all of the Collectible Minifigures, the head print is new. This female print is notable for the 'singing' expressions and pink eyeshadow.
The torso assembly is pink with yellow arms and hands. The print on the front shows a necklace and shimmery pink belly shirt.
The hips and legs are both pink and feature three buckles on each leg. Pink leather pants!
The accessory for this figure is a microphone, a new variant for the official LEGO universe. Microphones have been available in Beville sets previously or at custom houses like BrickForge. Each package contains two microphones.
Detailed pictures of all parts and accessories can be seen here.
Army Building Potential
The army building potential for the figure is low. An army of pop princesses might be nice...but not likely.
Feeling It Out
The hair might be your best bet, but it could be confused with The Lifeguard. Better stick with the bar code.
Bar Codes
The following are the secondary bar codes that can be found on the back of each bag which indicates the figure inside. The EU bar codes are shown on the left and the US bar codes are shown on the right. These bar codes come courtesy of Grogall. You can find a single pdf containing all bar codes here.
Official LEGO.com Bio
“This one goes out to all my fans!”
The Pop Star is at the top of the charts. Her last three albums went platinum and her videos are in non-stop rotation on all the music channels. She travels the world in limos and private jets and has more fans than she knows what to do with.
No matter how famous she gets, though, the Pop Star is still a normal girl who dances around her bedroom singing to the mirror, likes to hang out with her friends at the movies, and loves a good burger and fries!
The Big Draw
Despite some increased efforts by TLG to produce more female minifigures, they are still relatively rare. The new hair piece is nice, and is currently not slated for new sets. The microphone could also be a draw. How much do you want to bet that a Rocker is slated for Series 3? Mohawk and electric guitar anyone?!
