LEGO Star Wars Minifigures: Jar Jar and Gungan Warrior
These versions of Jar Jar Binks and Gungan Soldier are exclusive to set 7929, The Battle of Naboo. The head molds are not new, but the printing applied to them is.
Minifigure Parts and Accessories
Jar Jar and the Gungan Soldier are made up of 3 parts: a head, torso, and leg assembly.
The heads are part x116 the same mold that has appeared in five other sets previously in tan. As we mentioned the printing on the heads are what really differentiate both the heads from previous versions and each other.
Jar Jar's torso, arms, and hands are tan. The print on the torso is very similar to previous variants of this fig. The Gungan Warrior has a brown torso with flesh arms and hands. The print torso is new with a brown leather armor. It is not known if the print extends to the back of either torso.
Both sets of legs and hips do not feature print. Jar Jar has gray hips and legs, while the Gungan Warrior's are dark tan.
The accessories shown for Jar Jar are two trans light blue rounds on a 1x2 gray plate with handle. The Gungan Warrior has the same trans light blue round on a light gray antenna. The most interesting accessory is the new, oval trans clear shield with print.
The Gungan Warrior resembles the film version well with the torso and head prints. It would have been interesting to see this fig produced with the long legs that came with Woody (Toy Story).
Army Building Potential
The ABP for this figure is low to moderate. Gungan's, especially Jar Jar, are not the best loved characters from the Star Wars films. Despite that fact, there may be some who would like to recreate a large-scale Naboo battle.
Big Draw
The big draw will be the new head prints and the trans-clear shield. The Gungan Warrior's torso may also be attractive to some a new light armor variant.
