New Magnet Sets Appearing at LEGO Stores

LEGO Star Wars Kit Fisto Barris Offee Captain Jag Magnet SetThere are two new magnet sets scheduled for release. The first is a Star Wars number featuring Kit Fisto, Barris Offee, and Captain Jag. Barriss Offee has been a hot item on the secondary market. The average BrickLink price for the month of May was around $16 USD, only appearing in the limited edition set 8091, Republic Swamp Speeder. This will be a great opportunity to score three SW figs that have only been available in pricier sets.

LEGO Female Magnet Set 852948The second magnet set is currently showing up in LEGO stores in Europe. Magnet set 852948 is a collection of female minifigures from Agents, Pirates, and City/Town. The figures are specifically Dyna-Mite (agt024), Pirate Woman (pi101), and a City/Town figure that may be new.

It would seem that LEGO is making an effort to produce more female minifigures. In Jonathan Bender's book, LEGO A Love Story, he throws out that there's only 1 female minifigure for every 18 male ones. Upcoming sets like Harry Potter look like they are trying to narrow the gap.

Little Legends Hit Girl Kicks Ass

Little Legends Hit Girl Custom FigureCustomizer Little Legends had designed and is currently selling this custom minifig of Hit Girl from the movie Kick-Ass.

The minifigure design is very simple and clean. Custom decals on the torso and face provide the main features, complemented by a hand painted version of hair piece 62711. This bob was recently featured on a variety of LEGO Agents heroes and villains and Irina Spalko from Indiana Jones.

The guns are star corps blasters from The Little Arms Shop, while the cape seems to be typical LEGO fare.

If you look at this reference photo from the movie, you can see that you could further plus this figure to make it just that much closer to its celluloid counterpart.

Although I couldn't find one online, it would be great to have a minifigure tartan skirt to adorn this mini-mite. I did find some decal templates on Flickr, but it would be great to see a rubberized piece to best simulate the pleats and motion of the fabric.

The gloves could be simulated by using BrickForge vambraces with hands in in the same color.

The mobility lost may or may not be worth using part 41879 to duplicate her short stature.

Finally, replacing those blasters with a couple of naginata from Fine Clonier would really seal the deal.

LEGO World Racers in 3-D?

LEGO World Racers minifig headNick W. dropped us a line about this pic of the upcoming LEGO World Racers minifigures. World racers looks to be a mash-up of the Racers series with a touch of Agents thrown in for good measure.

What intrigues me about this design are the dual colored goggles. Comments online have compared them to 3-D glasses. Although I don't know much about the line, so far, its not completely out of the question that 3-D might play into the theme somehow (aside from the obvious fact that LEGO are inherently 3-D). If you've seen recent LEGO Club magazines or bought an Atlantis set, you'll know that 3-D stories and movies have played a role in marketing that line. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

When You Need a Brain Out in a Hurry

Karf Oohlu has a new vignette on his Flickr stream depicting Dr. Toth and his assistant I-GOR helping to relieve some poor soul of his troubled mind.

The doctor's chair incorporates some of the accessories from the recent Prince of Persia sets.

Other mentionables include the use of Agents villain Break Jaw in the role of I-GOR, and what appears to be a BrickTW cape on the good doctor.

As always it wouldn't be a Karf creation without an healthy injection of humor directly into the brain stem...

"...THOTH! THOTH!...I thought it said TOOTH...wondered why the dental chair looked so odddnnNNNOOO!!!..."

It's Slime Time!

Slime Face HardsuitBlackleafwei can't let Break Jaw have all the fun! Slime Face is busy burying the competition in this latest vignette.

There's another hardsuit of Gold Tooth on blackleafwei's Flickr stream as well.

Each one is basic in its overall design, but its the custom touches reflecting the character of each fig that really sets these apart.

Although I'd love to continue to see more Agents villains, when will Agent Chase suit up and go on the offensive?! Nick Fury wouldn't put up with this $#!@...

Break Jaw Hardsuit Vingette

Break Jaw's Hardsuit AttacksBlackleafwei has been busy designing hardsuits and vignettes using LEGO Agents minifigures. In this scene Break Jaw is bearing down on a group of fleeing agents. The stack of dynamite at his feet suggests that Break Jaw might go "boom".

Its not surprising that Break Jaw was able to score such a sweet ride. His boss, Dr. Inferno, has a 'killer' whip himself. Robo Attack (set 8970) was one of the first sets I bought after coming out of my dark ages!

JasBrick's Gears of War Project Continues

JasBrick continues to develop custom minfigures based on the Gears of War franchise.

Hazel brings the guns, while the helmet appears to be a modified version of the Break Jaw helmet (part 63359) from the Agents line.

A custom zombie head to cap it all off and you have a fine specimen of a Locust Sniper in minifig form.
