Si-Dan Review at The Brick Blogger

Akunthita has a nice review of Si-Dan Toys items on The Brick Blogger. Really gives you a good sense of several Si-Dan items and where you can find them.

There's also a focus article on the samurai helmet which would go well with your Series 3 Samurai or Ninjago minifigures.

You can see the articles at The Brick Blogger. You can also pick up some of these items at FireStar Toys, along with a wide selection of custom minifig accessories from other custom houses.

Beautiful Combos from Exobrick

Customizer Exobrick continues to astound with the great part combinations from five different custom houses (Si-Dan, Hazel Fantasy, BrickArms, Tiny Tactical, and Planet of Hoth).

The net sum is a perfect blend for an amazing character. You can almost tell the story of this Apocalyptic Samurai just by looking at him.

You can see more of Exobrick's work on his Flickr stream.

The Life of a Monk

Akunthita has created a series of vignettes depicting 'The Life of a (Buddhist) Monk' utilizing the Series 3 Sumo Wrestler and a collection of custom accessories from Si-Dan and BrickForge. Each vignette tells a story, so it's both fun and educational.

You can see more on Akunthita's blog (theBrickBlogger.com).

The Knight's Blackwater Military Contractor

After only discovering KJ (The Knight) in the past month or so, the one thing that always draws me to his creations are the textures. The paint treatments he uses adds depth and warmth to each piece to take it beyond little pieces of ABS plastic and add life to the whole. The combo of the Si-Dan goggles and Series 3 ball cap are inspired.

I also really think that TLG needs to start making more short-sleeve shirts for minifigures. We need a third choice to go along with the long sleeve or muscle shirt options.

See more pics of this and other KJ's creations on his Flickr stream.

Huge FireStar Toys Sale and More

UK based FireStar Toys is currently having a huge sale on hundreds of items on their site. They need to make way for all the fantastic LEGO products and customs slated for 2011, including the Brick Command items we just reviewed!

What's more, since FireStar Toys buys from all the great custom houses around the world, like Amazing Armory Ltd., Si-Dan, BrickArms, Tiny Tactical, and now BrickForge, you can mix and match accessories and not worry about separate shipping and handling fees. Case in point...

You really like the Brick Command Wing Sword but worry how a Bat'leth would fare in a firefight. No worries, just pick up Federation issue phasers from either BrickArms or BrickForge too!

Do you want to expand your Spinjitsu master's arsenal? In addition to the Brick Command stars you could also pick up the BrickForge Sai or any of the Si-Dan Ninja accessories.

As one of my personal heroes, Ron Popeil, is often fond of saying, "but wait, there's more".  Now through the end of January you can use coupon/voucher code 'KV882256' to get an additional 10% off your order at checkout.

So hurry on down to FireStar Toys today. Offers are limited (not really), and operators are standing by (sort of)...

Exobrick's Fantastic Combos

Exobrick has always been adept at taking several official and custom parts and creating something with real appeal. His latest creation is no exception.

The hat is from Si-Dan, the body wear is from BrickTW, and the gas mask and shield are from Amazing Armory. The Auto-9 hand cannon is courtesy of BrickArms, while the cape and sheath are from MMCB.

The head? It's from the new LEGO Star Wars Embo minifig. I can see the head for this and the Imperial Pilot showing up in a lot of custom creations this year.

You can see other create customs from Exobrick via his Flickr stream. If you are interested in checking out where you can get some of these great custom parts, check out Minifig.Cat (Si-Dan), BrickTW, MMCB, and BrickArms. These specific Amazing Armory items can be purchased from FireStar Toys. Similar items can also be purchased from United Armory in the US and Canada.

New Si-Dan Items at Minifig.Cat's BrickLink Store

Minifig.Cat's BrickLink store just posted 19 new items which I believe originate through Si-Dan Toys. The bulk of the items are listed as 'Navy Seal'; however, there are some spartan warrior accessories too.

If you enjoy Tiny Tactical and BrickArms, you may want to check them out. The items are currently on display at Minifig.Cat's Flickr stream and their BrickLink store.

Tiny Tactical is Crazy

...like a fox. Steve has been rolling out the coming attractions, and most, if not all, of the recent additions are outstanding add-ons for existing BrickArms or Si-Dan weapons.

The first new items are these three selections of silencers that are compatible withthe BrickArms M4 Carbine.

Then he flashes us a look at these shotgun accessories that work with shotguns from both BrickArms and Si-Dan.

This man must be stopped, folks. My wallet can't take it! Just when you think he's done, he's 'threatened' to show us even more product very soon. The horror, the horror...

You know Mr. Chapman must be loving Steve right now. In economic terms these are complimentary goods - you can't really have these accessories without a BA weapon (and vice versa).

More Tiny Tactical and Si-Dan Toys at FireStar

FireStar Toys just announced that they've not only gotten more Tiny Tactical stock in, but they've also just gotten in a shipment from Si-Dan Toys. Si-Dan is a company that has several LEGO compatible accessories in themes like SWAT, Ninjas, and Samurai. The gas masks alone are worth a look!

In addition to these new lots, FireStar has created a Halloween section on their site collecting all that's eerie, creepy, and spooky about the world of LEGO minifigures. A lot here from older figs and accessories to Collectible Minifigure favorites like The Witch and Vampire.

Only a couple more days to take advantage of FireStar's September coupon code (wg88977) for 5% off your order!

Exobrick's Samurai and Planet of Hoth

Exobrick has posted this great samurai custom on his Flickr stream. Utilizing a collection of parts from Si-Dan Toys and a LEGO Batman Bane minifigure head, the parts combination is quite nice.

The cloth accessories are wonderful and come from a shop called Planet of Hoth. Planet is an UK based eBay store specializing in LEGO Star Wars minifigures. These are the minifigs you wish came with the sets! The official figures are often 'plussed' with glow-in-dark lightsaber blades and cloth accessories like this Plo Koon figure (pictured).

I hope to learn more about Planet of Hoth and will pass along any relevant information.

Exobrick's Just Playin'

Exobrick's Custom Darth Talon with Si-Dan and Tiny Tactical Accessories
Exobrick is showing off some custom goodness over on his Flickr stream. Using an Arealight custom Darth Talon bedecked with accessories from Si-Dan Toys and Tiny Tactical, this is one Twi'lek I wouldn't want to run into in a dark alley.

A few weeks back, I talked about MinifigCat's store which features many of the Si-Dan Toys. At the time I thought the claws would make for a good Wolverine custom. Now seeing the proportions relative to the fig, its more Lady Deathstrike than Logan!
