Quick Hits: United Armory, BrickForge, and LifeLites

Pedro has announced that he has a collection of new items at his BrickLink store, United Armory. A wide variety of helmets, guns, and armor all in ABS. Does this mean Hazel and Amazing Armory Ltd. are back in business?

BrickForge is unstoppable with even more product with no end in sight. The newest? Mushrooms for those forest creations! Not only that, they've produced a lot in their 'glow-in-the-dark' style. A few LifeLites and you're ready to recreate a Pandora nightscape.

Speaking of BrickForge and LifeLites, Armothe has created a little demo using The Crystal King from Power Miners and an eLite kit. BrickForge and LifeLites have also joined forces to bring you custom lamp posts that work with LifeLights LEDs. The items are not yet for sale, but do appear on the BrickForge site. Soon, you'll be able to light up those modular displays.

A lot more coming at you today. Stay tuned...

Impromptu Decal Tutorial - Tac and JasBrick

Tac Decal TestsWe'll if you have figured it out, the decal experiments I was referring to are these pics from Tac. Utilizing a variety of helmets and armor from Space Police III, Power Miners, and BrickForge. TLG is obviously taking notice with the World Racers helmets. Helmets from Space Police and Power Miners just beg for this type of treatment. But wait, there's more!

If you read through the comment thread JasBrick steps up to the plate and give an impromptu tutorial on decal application. For your consideration:

Descent Into Madness

So Jordan (AKA Sir Nadroj) is working on a scene from the novel "Silence of The Lambs". As a teaser, he's posted this pic of Dr. Lecter dressed in evening wear.

Claiming to work in the purist style, he's utilized a Power Miners visor for the bite guard and a 1x2 tile held in place with white elastic bands. Very nice. Then Sithassassin offered up a bit of advice...

Take a look at this creation by yoshix. Wow! Granted the vignette adds to the atmosphere, but the use of the minifigure arms as an extension of the straight jacket and the crouched pose just makes this.

I've not been aware of yoshix until now. Seems I'll have to be keeping an eye out for him in the future.

Two from Pedro and AMA News

Pedro is back and doing his best to customize and mod this series of minifigures. The figures are actually a mix of Space Police III, Star Wars, Power Miners, Harry Potter, and Amazing Armory accessories.

First up is this red armored warrior. The helmet is a modified version of part 85944 from Space Police III. The body armor is from Power Miners (part 85961). The shoulder cannon seems like it would be a custom part, but its actually a Star Wars Super Battle Droid arm (part 64796). The head? A Harry Potter death eater mask. Finally the gun is an Amazing Armory M4A1. So how does Pedro achieve that shiny, candy-like exterior? Mr. Color paint, cranberry red pearl.

The second figure utilizes the same SPIII helmet only modified differently to remove the head spikes. The armor is a modified version of Amazing Armory space armor. We've talked about the gun on the soldier's back. The gun in hand is Amazing Armory based on comments, but I can't seem to place the model.

Speaking of comments...Pedro mentions in the comments that he is soon to be the official US reseller of Amazing Armory. I'm not certain what this means for US customers (lower shipping prices, faster delivery), but Pedro's store should be opening soon.

Rock Monster Love

Brickspace has returned with a vengeance. After posting about the winners of the 2009 Bricks in Motion Awards they shared this new Power Miner's themed brickfilm from OldScratch.

The film, set in the Power Miner's universe, uses the band Fight Like Apes' song "Knucklehead" to drive the plot. Some great animation plus who can't help but love those rock monster minifigures.

But wait there's more...

Christopher Doyle's Brick House ComicIf you want some more PM rock monster goodness, be sure to follow Christopher Doyle's Brick House strip on Reasonably Clever. The evil hairpiece has absconded with Whiskey's second head that he obtained from "The Creator" while in the meta-verse. After escaping into the tunnels below Brick House, the hairpiece has stumbled upon a tribe of rock monsters who communicate only by singing classic rock songs and show tunes. Ya got all that?!

Plus, if you become a friend of Reasonably Clever on Facebook, you'll be entered to win one of the rock monster figs featured in the strip. Boo-yah!
