miniBIGS Now the Official US Reseller of Arealight

The owner of miniBIGS contacted us to let us now they are now the official US reseller of Arealight products.

They will be carrying about 90% of Arealights products. This is great news for us here in the US. That will mean faster shipping times and likely at a lower cost too.

Arealight products are great and if you haven't gotten a chance to look at his products yet you can do so by clicking here or by reviewing some of the guides we here at the Ugly Duckling have written up here.

Now Where's That Copy of The Zombie Survival Guide?

Following hot on the heels of their WWII customs, miniBIGS has also released this amazing zombie figure. 'Shannon' is one of the most terrifying LEGO zombie I've seen in some time, but somehow still fits the LEGO asthetic.

Shannon is not alone, she also has 'Al' and 'Myron' to keep here company while on the search for..."bra-a-ains".

The full custom minifigure you see here retails for $16 USD. MiniBIGS also has a zombie kit for $6 USD that just includes a gray pair of hands and the head.

You can see all the zombie action at miniBIGS today.

New Warfare Figures at MiniBIGS

With the sheer number of WWII and modern warfare customs circulating, it's always nice to see something a little new in the genre. MiniBIGS has done this with this custom Vietnam era gunner.

Although not a complex figure weighed down with a small arsenal, this really struck me due to it's simplicity. I really like the design of the torso and tattoo.
This custom figure and many others are for sale at the MiniBIGS website.

miniBIGS' 8-Bit Heroes

MiniBIGS recently posted this picture on Flickr of an upcoming Mario and Luigi minifigure pack. I personally scanned the site to see if these items are on sale yet, but couldn't find them. I imagine these will be available soon.

While you are waiting, check out miniBIGS current selection. Lots of original creations and several offers which combine stuff from several custom houses for desired effect (think Halo figs with BrickForge armor and BrickArms guns).

We Interrupt This Haitus...

A quick shot of news and then it's back to my holiday...

Given that I've rallied the citizens to go forth and explore the world of custom minifig shops this weekend, I thought I'd pass along news of a 20% sale at Amazing Armory, now through August. I always thought of AMA as the Kanye West of the customization world...

miniBIGS has also posted some new figures on their store like this great Thundercats Lion-O custom shown here. They also have a great "Dark Knight" style Joker in white.

Remember to spread the word to celebrate your independence and "Buy Custom" this weekend!

miniBIGS' Zombies Attack

With all of the custom zombie hunters popping up as part of the World War Z movement, miniBIGS felt they needed something more to hunt than a hoard of dead business men.

Enter "Al" and "Myron". These two gents premiered at Brickworld Chicago this last weekend. There is a third, female zombie figure ("Sharon") not shown here.
