New Use for BrickForge Bayonettes

Pedro continues to show his inventiveness by find a new use for the BrickForge bayonet. With a quick trim the bayonet can act as an alternate hand allowing your figures to execute a forward thrust. This is a feature exclusive to the BrickForge bayonet because the clip is attached directly, as opposed to the BrickArms number which needs a u-clip (although you could rig up something similar).

This reminds me of the high-end action figures that have multiple hands for different poses.

The custom figure is courtesy of The Knight. The knife, gun, and vest are Hazel Fantasy, and the mohawk and bayonet are BrickForge. You can see more on Pedro's Flickr stream.

Interview with The Knight on CustomMinifig

There's a nice interview with KJ (The Knight) on CustomMinifig today. KJ talks about many of his inspirations and views on the custom minifigure community.

If you would like to better understand the man behind the customs, take some time and give it a read.

You can find it on customminifig.co.uk.

Do Not Adjust Your Computer Screens...

Another great find from the past month or so has been The Knight (KJ). Not only is he prolific, coming out with new custom designs every few days, he is bold and inventive with his use of color.

Case in point...we've all see the Hazel Tam Deep Eyes accessories many times before. KJ's paints take it in a whole new direction and really make it feel refreshing. Based on the designs of samurai armor, these colors pop off the screen without overloading the senses.

There's lots  more to see on The Knight's Flickr stream, so much in fact I don't always get to post them all..but I do 'favorite' them daily. With 20 or more new creations added to My Flickr Favorites daily, you'll always have a reason to come back. Just visit the page (there's a tab at the top) click play on the viewer and enjoy!

Do you like the Deep Eyes armor and headgear? You pick some up from United Armory (US/Canada) today!

The Knight's Blackwater Military Contractor

After only discovering KJ (The Knight) in the past month or so, the one thing that always draws me to his creations are the textures. The paint treatments he uses adds depth and warmth to each piece to take it beyond little pieces of ABS plastic and add life to the whole. The combo of the Si-Dan goggles and Series 3 ball cap are inspired.

I also really think that TLG needs to start making more short-sleeve shirts for minifigures. We need a third choice to go along with the long sleeve or muscle shirt options.

See more pics of this and other KJ's creations on his Flickr stream.
