Lovely Ladies of the Empire

Exobrick's Female Stormtrooper with MinifigMaker helm
It would appear that both Exobrick and Pedro have made recent purchases at Arealight and MinifigMaker.

First up we have Exobrick's lady friend with AreaLight torso, MinifigMaker helmet, and modded BrickArms M23 pistol. I'm not sure what is about a lady in uniform, but I'm sure Balakov shares my appreciation.

Pedro prefers his female troopers with head tails...Twi'lek head tails that is (get your head out of the gutter). This little lady is all Arealight from head to toe.

Pedro's Twi'lek Female StormtrooperI know I've voiced this time and time again, but I really think TLG should consider making a female minifig mold with curves (a la Arealight's design). I recognize that it would require a new mold and perhaps modification to production lines, but after seeing this print curves just don't do it for me anymore...erm, what I meant to say was...I better quit while I'm behind.

MinifigMaker Gets a Jump on Clone Wars Season 3

Following the San Diego Comic Con this past weekend previews of Clone Wars Season 3 started appearing showcasing new characters and story lines. You can see the video preview and stills on StarWars.com.

It would also seem that MinifigMaker is getting a jump on the new character designs. This unnamed clone commander has some great markings that set him apart from the other troops. MinifigMaker has really captured the likeness here.

In other MinifigMaker news, JasBrick picked up one of his other figures and couldn't stop raving about it on Flickr. Check out here.

MinfigMaker's Republic Trooper

MinifigMaker's Republic TrooperWhen I came across MinifigMaker a few weeks ago, I was really taken by two things: 1) How cleanly the print/decals blend with the minfigure and 2) the level of detail in each piece without becoming too busy.

If you look closely at this Republic Trooper, there's print on the arms, around the sides of the legs, and even on the bottom rim of the helmet! Look at these reference pics and see how well MM has captured the likeness of the original.

This is another excellent example of taking the minifig stormtrooper to a higher art form.

Doing Bad, Bad Things with True Blood Minifigs

MinifigMaker steps out of the Star Wars universe to bring you these great True Blood minifigures.

MinifigMaker's True Blood Custom MinifiguresEric Northman, Sookie Stackhouse, and Bill Compton in all their minifigure glory (or is that gory?!). I love how the two vampires have blood trickles coming out their mouths, while Sookie has a couple of puncture wounds on her neck. I'll be interested to see if MinifigMaker develops any of the other characters from the series, book or TV.

MinifigMaker Conjures Up The Death Watch

As you may know, I've expressed my hope for a Clone Wars Mandalorian Battle Pack for 2011. This started after the Death Watch storyline aired on the animated Clone Wars series.

Star Wars Clone Wars Death Watch
Even if LEGO doesn't go down this path, we can still look to the customizers to make this a reality.

MinifigMaker's Pre Vizsla

MinifigMaker has designed this custom figure of the Mandalorian Death Watch leader, Pre Vizsla. Although not available yet on their store, he will come with a jet pack and weapon. One can only hope its his custom "darksaber".
