Brickset History Lesson: Minifigures 1975

Brickset has posted a small primer on the history of the LEGO minifgure circa 1975. As can be seen in the picture below there were no faces, no hands and no movable arms or legs.

Figures had to have the torso removed from the legs to allow them to 'sit' (as seen with the policeman riding the motorcycle in the picture). If you wanted to have the figures 'hold' anything a plate had to be added between the torso and legs!
