Series 4 Collector Case on Amazon

Daniel of The Brick Blog set me a link for this Series 4 Collectible Minifigure collector's case on Amazon. The Amazon listing shows it being from LEGO, but it's being sold by another retailer (Toy Hoarder).

The front is made of a clear PVC plastic with a backing that slides into place. The back has a listing for all 16 figures. The case can stand by itself or hang from a wall.

There are plenty of ways you can display you Series 4 figures, and now you have another option. The case retails for $19.99, but do make certain you read all details regarding shipping and handling.

You can find the listing on Amazon.com.

Thanks to The Brick Blog for sending this over.

Exclusive LEGO Harry Potter Dictionary Minifig Revealed

Smashing Bricks and Eurobricks share that the exclusive minfigure that will come with DK's LEGO Harry Potter: Building The Magical World book is...dress robes Harry Potter. Based on the conversation on Eurobricks, this is a bit of a mixed bag. The torso design is really the only new bit here and it's...OK.

If you disagree and feel you must add this dapper wizard to your collection you can pre-order the book which comes out May 30th on Amazon.com.

You can also read more at Smashing Bricks and Eurobricks.

LEGO Ninjago On Sale at Amazon.com (US)

Apples wrote to let me know that LEGO Ninjago set, Garmadon's Dark Fortress, is on sale at Amazon.com for $55 USD (~21% off the list price). This could be a 'flash sale', where the price goes up at some point in the near future, so don't delay. You can see all the figures that come with this set in our LEGO Ninjago Minifigure guides.

Toys N Bricks is also reporting other sales on a few select Toy Story and Star Wars sets, including the Western Train Chase, Palpatine's Shuttle, Slave I, and the ARC-170. You can see more at Toys N Bricks.

Garmadon's Dark Fortress On Sale at Amazon (US)

Don't ask me why but LEGO Ninjago set 2505, Garmadon's Dark Fortress, is on sale at Amazon for $50 USD. This is almost $20 under MSRP! You get three 'rare' minifigures in Nya, Garmadon, and Samukai, plus you get Kai, Bonzai, and Chopov. Eligible for free Super Saver shipping too.

Amazon can be fickle, so if you want to take advantage of this deal (almost 30% off) I suggest you act quickly.  You can find the link here.

UPDATE: Remember how I said act fast? It seems that Amazon has already moved to raise the price. It's still showing a 10% discount, however. Hopefully, someone was able to take advantage of this 'flash' sale.

Amazon US Now Has 2011 LEGO Sets

With all of the new releases at different outlets recently, I couldn't remember if this was new news or not. If I am reposting, just consider this a reminder...

Many of the new 2011 LEGO sets are now available at Amazon.com (US) including Ninjago, LEGO Star Wars, and Atlantis. What is noteworthy here is that shipping is free on orders over $25 USD.

So if you don't live near other brick and mortar outlets who have the new sets, or you want to place a smallish order and still save on shipping, it looks like Amazon has you covered.

See it all at the 'new LEGO' page on Amazon (note that Ninjago has it's own separate page and link).

ABP Alert - Prince of Persia Desert Attack 50% Off

Hot on the heels of yesterday's discount on the LEGO Toy Story Army Men, Amazon now has the Prince of Persia Desert Attack set listed for $5.49 USD, a 50% savings!

Ostrich Race and the Space Police Smash 'N Grab sets are also listed at 50% off, but the minifig potential is lower. Nevertheless, a fantastic deal.

You will want to hurry. Amazon raised the prices on the Army Men set the same day it went on sale, so these offers may not last for long.

Thanks to Toys N Bricks for the news.

ABP Alert - Amazon has Army Men Packs for $5.99

At $5.99 USD this offer amounts to 60% off the normal price! I've gotten some great mileage out of my LEGO Toy Story Army Men with some head and hand changes. I've heard it said that you are limited to three sets per purchase (an instant 12 man battalion), but I don't see the restriction listed.

Express shipping options can get them there before Christmas, or wait and get free shipping on orders over $25 USD. Check them out at Amazon today!

Now, if only there was a way to buy quality accessories for those soldiers to add variety and play value to your purchase. Hmmm....

ABP Alert - Deep Discounts on Prince of Persia at Amazon

More evidence that LEGO Prince of Persia didn't rock the sales charts...

Amazon currently has several PoP sets at deep discounts and part of their BOGO 50% page. Not only that , FBTB reports that free shipping is available, regardless of the total value of your order (standard shipping 3 to 5 days).

LEGO's loss can be your gain, as PoP featured lots of great minifig parts and weapons. You won't see discounts like this again for some time. Check it out when you get a chance.

Amazon Lightning Deals Hack

First AFOLs crack the 'enigma cypher' that is the Series 3 Collectible Minifigure braile codes, now we find a way to hack the Amazon Lightning Deals using Google Chrome.

From Bricks to Bothans (FBTB.net) is reporting that today's 12pm PST Toys & Games Lightning Deal is expected to be LEGO Games Monster 4. This is a great parts pack for minifigure heads including werewolves, goblins, devils, jack o' lanterns, vampires, and skeletons. It also happens to be a nice game for the little ones.

Amazon Lighting Deals are quite good, but they go very quickly. Have your mouse poised and ready later today.

LEGO Harry Potter Minifig Poster

I came across this on the blog A Modular Life and there weren't a lot of details. Supposedly you can link to a pdf of this LEGO Harry Potter minifigure poster on Amazon.com. The images are different from those that appear on the microsite - still rendered images (i.e. not the actual minifigures) just in different poses. The set numbers each minifig appears in are located under the figure's name.

I've done some 'patch work' on the guide as it's become clear that the earlier, hi-res pics I used didn't always depict the final product as shown in the Fall 2010 catalog. Argus Filch was probably the biggest offender (is his hair different again?!). Nevertheless, I'll be trying to find better photographs as they become available.

Early Release of LEGO Star Wars Summer 2010 Sets?

We'll if you've been hiding in your underground bunker with no access to the interwebs for the past few days, then you are likely to NOT have heard that Amazon France appears to be releasing six of the Summer 2010 Star Wars sets into the wild.

Admittedly I thought this would be revealed to have been an error on the part of Amazon France, but as a few more days go by with no reports of LEGO corporate descending on zip lines to halt this madness, it makes me think its legit. There have even been reports on Eurobricks of members who placed orders receiving shipment confirmation e-mails.

What other evidence is there of this being a legitimate launch? Well 30 years ago The Empire Strikes Back was released in theaters on May 21st, 1980. LEGO may have moved the launch date up to coincide with the anniversary.

We had reports of French retailer catalogs surfacing with "June" printed at the top and pictures of the new sets on the page.

LEGO Ambassador CopMike was provided with an early copy of the new Slave I set a few weeks ago. Given that LEGO is likely not running its production lines for a handful of sets, they may be ready to go. Why let them sit in a warehouse for three months?

The really strange thing is how this appears to have been a surprise to most of the online AFOL community. I have yet to see anyone come forward stating that LEGO had this in the works for quite some time and 'secretly' announced it at one of the European toy fairs.

Also, why France and why Amazon? If I understand correctly, you can live in the EU and have items shipped from Amazon France without huge shipping fees. The US, however, is another story. Might this anger other European retailers if Amazon gets a three month jump on them?

Without combing through last year's LEGO annual report, I would have to guess that the US is the largest market for LEGO. Now it hasn't been stated that these sets won't be available in the US until August, but it just seems odd not to launch in your biggest market first unless there are logistics issues that make it difficult.

I think the next few days may be telling. If LEGO doesn't clamp down on this early release, and those who ordered via Amazon France receive their sets, then what's done is done.

May 1st we expect to see the both the Toy Story 3 sets and the Collectible Minifigures released in the US through select outlets. Could these new Star Wars sets become available here too? Only time will tell...
